May 21st :: Bourbon & Bowties

Baltimore’s premiere grooming parlor and barbershop, Quinntessential Gentleman, is honored to have hosted a fundraiser for Baltimore native Shannon Dudley. Shannon, age 22, had always aspired to be a barber one day, however that dream was taken the day he was robbed and stabbed on his way home from barber school in downtown Baltimore. This senseless attack by several men, left a knife in Shannon’s heart causing him hours on the operating table and in turn a life of brain damage.
In order to support Shannon and his family with medical bills and future care, Quinntessential Gentleman was privileged to host the “Bourbon and Bowties” benefit in Shannon’s honor. “This is the least we can do to help Shannon and his family,” said Craig Martin, owner of the Quinntessential Gentleman. “My employees and I share the same dreams that Shannon had as this attack happened just as he was completing barber school. He finally stepped out into the world ready to start his career, only to be cut down by these individuals.”
“Bourbon and Bowties” took place at the Capital Grille’s front patio on Friday May 21st, 5:30pm to 8pm. The event included hors d’oeuvres, beer and a bourbon tasting featuring Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek, Basil Hadin and Bookers as well as a complimentary Punch cigar for each guest, donated by the General Cigar Company. Citizens of Baltimore are also asked to wear a bowtie to work on the 21st, in support of Shannon and as a commitment to help “Take back the City”. For a dapper collection of bowties, check out Quinntessential Gentleman's assortment online or stop by the store located at 31 South Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
