My two favorite go-to dining destinations in historic Lewes, Delaware include Half Full, a pizza and wine bar and Agave, a Mexican restaurant serving up the absolute best margaritas.

Above, C and I enjoyed the Dublin Pig pizza this weekend (braised pork, granny smith apples, Dubliner cheese and garlic sauce) followed by some seriously delicious grilled corn served with crumbled queso and lime.

Alas, no trip to the beach would be complete without boardwalk fries (left) and ice cream (right)...

Well-Kept } quick trip beauty essentials

I'm packing for a quick trip to the beach with Lady C. It's my first visit of the season, as this is the first weekend without an event in awhile. Thus, I am gathering up my beauty essentials to stock the beach house with, including my go-to self tanner from St. Tropez (this works best when preceded by DermaDoctor's KP duty, of course); Philosophy's Aloha Girl lotion (vanilla coconut - yum!); my can't-live-without foaming mousse cleanser from Chanel and keratin hair treatment from Peter Coppola; John Frieda Collection's Sheer Blonde shampoo; and the only two makeup items I need at the beach: a Nars multiple stick (Copacabana) and Chanel black mascara. The only thing missing is sunblock, which I will have to pick up en route.

Lots of reading, resting and good food on the agenda. Happy Weekend! JG

Signet rings, the bold gold, monogram, family and school-crest engraved jewelry staples that never go out of rotation in our wardrobes, used to signify royalty and power in a community. The rings originated in ancient Rome as symbols of victory for generals and then gained popularity again in 17th century England, when they became the preferred way of singing letters with one's seal. The seal validated the authenticity of its owner and any acts or contracts executed on his behalf as a true signet ring leaves a raised design in wax, hence the popular expression "signed, sealed and delivered".

Today's signet rings might not be used for letter-sealing and the theft of one may no longer be punishable by death, but there are certainly a few royal styles on the market. Beautiful weather + Baltimore conservatory & botanic garden + bright stripes & prints = recipe for a lovely Saturday afternoon celebrating the birthday of one of Lady C's friends.

C's favorite part? The colorful koi pond, face-painting and, of course, the party favor: Caldecott Award and best-illustrated book winner The Garden of Abdul Gasazi, which tied in the event's garden party theme perfectly.
