Happiness Is :: Late Summer Salad

I recently enjoyed this heirloom tomato salad at my favorite Baltimore restaurant, Cinghiale, and am now excited to recreate it as soon as I make a quick trip to the historic Lewes farmers' market.

ripe tomatoes + basil + gorgonzola + extra virgin olive oil + sea salt + pepper = happiness!

Great with a glass of sparkling rose or cava, it's the ideal starter dish for the late summer holiday weekend's flavor-filled menus that lie ahead...

Congratulations to Jessica and Greg, recently wed at the Christ Lutheran Church in Baltimore. A lavish reception followed footsteps away at the Intercontinental Harbor Court.

The bride's bouquet, designed by JJ Cummings, was statement-making in its sophisticated simplicity.

The centerpiece arrangements were bold and bursting with vibrant summer colors. Above, the newlyweds take in the view from Federal Hill park overlooking the city's Inner Harbor.
